anybody have experience with M4A79-T Deluxe mobo?

Postby CoffinDancer=UTK= on Wed Dec 30, 2009 7:57 am

recent experiences with CoD4, FFOW, and now MW2 have me feeling like i'm walking around in-game, while everybody *else* is running!! ?? the way i felt when i first started out with UT99.

i've been looking at the above Asus board, and wondering if anybody's got any good or bad experience with it?

i want to couple this with the AMD Phenom II X4 Model 965, Black Edition processor @3.4ghz to (literally) get me back up to speed again.

i've also been seeing a lot of Gigabyte boards, but have no clue as to their reliability / performance / stability etc.

anybody have anything to say about Gigabyte boards? :-)

thanks,
CD

I can't really comment on the "walking around feeling" as I wouldn't expect that to be a hardware problem per se, more of a gameplay issue... Some of the Console -> PC ports have a very odd or bad feel to them. However, I can speak to your question about Gigabyte boards! I did have a Gigabyte board once after I gave up on Asus. It failed in < 1 year :(

I've pretty much given up completely on AMD and all of the other 3rd party hardware manufacturers. I pretty much only run Intel systems on Intel-made hardware. Intel board/chipset, not Asus board with an Intel chipset.

Video cards are another story. I've had really good luck with the BFG cards and good luck with EVGA cards. Combine that with a quality power supply and half-way decent ram (A-DATA) and I'm happy. :up
